Summer Tradition of Long Beach Municipal Band Concerts in Parks Lasts Four More Weeks

The 104-year Long Beach Municipal Band takes the stage at El Dorado Park Friday night in a beloved summer tradition of outdoor music at parks, wrapping a week of concerts.

The band will perform music from movies in a show that always starts at 6:30 p.m.

Remaining evenings through Aug. 1 will feature other themed music at Bluff Park, Los Cerritos, Marine Stadium and El Dorado Park West.

Four nights a week, the band can be found performing at city parks. Their history and their schedule can be found here: http://www.longbeach.gov/park/recreation/lb_municipal_band.asp
The ensemble is led by conductor Larry Curtis and comprised of what the city calls the best of Southern California's symphony, studio recording and jazz performers." It has been called the longest running municipal band in the country.
