If you are new to the area, you are probably just beginning to find that there is more to this town than a race and Zombies. There is art on a huge scale in shows, walks and workshops all over the city. But something new is happening.
Every Wednesday evening at six in the evening for the past five weeks at Bluff Park near Cherry Avenue and Ocean Boulevard an electric group of writers, poets and artists gather for what they call "Drum Circle".
At times there may be some milling about and a break. Other times the time just seems to pass as the beat develops from one person to everyone. What you will hear is not rehearsed or practiced, except for the talent's that everyone brings to the circle.
There is an open invitation to all to join in, and is touted as family and dog friendly. So bring the kids, bring the dogs, bring more instruments and join in on an evening of relaxing and following along to what becomes a harmony of different beats, coexisting.
