Green Prize Festival

In celebration of Earth Day, Green Education, Inc, in collaboration with Leadership Long Beach, and Green Long Beach! are kicking off the first annual Green Prize Festival on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

The Green Prize Festival is a one-day event highlighting urban farmers, green chefs, live entertainment, artists, green technology, environmental organizations as well as education through workshops, demonstrations and guest speakers. The event will also feature a free bike valet, beer garden, green vendors and food trucks as well as children’s activities.

Festival founder, Stella Ursua of Green Education notes, “In an effort to highlight and promote local achievements in sustainability and to create a more environmentally focused city, not only on Earth Day but everyday, we are proud to introduce the “Green Prize” annual award program. This prestigious award will honor those illustrating excellence in sustainability within the city of Long Beach, whether it be an individual, school, neighborhood, restaurant, non-profit, business or governmental body.”

The day will begin with delicious, affordable “Farm to Table” meals prepared by Chef Sean Forsha, while supplies last so get there early! The event will run from 11am-6pm and is free to the public. All are invited to celebrate the Earth while enjoying a beautiful ocean view at Bixby Park.

This event is brought to you by the organizers for the Green Prix of Long Beach, 2013.
