MONDAY ESSENTIALS: Fight Against Hunger Doesn't Break for Holidays

Christmas is near. New Year's is around the corner. This time of year, struggling families need food donations more than ever. Now is the time to donate.

Each year, tens of thousands of families suffer through hunger in Los Angeles County.

“More children are at risk of going hungry in Los Angeles County than in any other county in the nation,” according to a story published in June in the Los Angeles Times.

The article notes that Feeding America, a national network of food banks, found that 650,000 children in Los Angeles County are  "food insecure."
