Long Beach’s Alegria Launches “Sing Out Loud” Competition With $1,000 Prize

Do you have a golden voice?  Do you think the competitors on “American Idol” have nothing on you? Have your ever dreamed of a career in music and wondered how to get started?  If so, you may consider participating in “Sing Out Loud,” an 8-week competition sponsored by the critically acclaimed restaurant Alegria Cocina Latina.  Budding singers will vie for a top prize of $1,000 and a contract to perform at the downtown Long Beach dining destination, announced owner Adrian Amosa.

Held each Wednesday evening April 30 – May 28 starting at 9 p.m., contestants are invited to open mic nights where they may sing their favorite songs karaoke-style.  Then starting in June, semifinalists will be invited back on subsequent Wednesdays to sing before a panel of judges.  Finally, on Wednesday, July 2, the finalists will be invited back to the final round of competition where the winner will be announced.  All finalists will receive gift cards to Alegria and/or Amosa’s other restaurants, Gaucho Grill and Agaves Kitchen & Tequila.

“Music and live entertainment have long been hallmarks at our restaurants so introducing ‘Sing Out Loud to our line-up is a great way to shake things up and see what kind of talent lies right in our own backyard,” said Amosa.
