$10K Award Offered for Information to Solve Mystery Shooting

Authorities today hoped a $10,000 reward will help police solve the killing of a young man who was gunned down about a year ago in Long Beach.

Sidney Wallace, 19, of Los Angeles, was fatally shot about 9:15 p.m. March 28, 2013, in the 200 block of East Hill Street, according to Long Beach police.

Wallace died at the scene, police said. Two other men were wounded in the shooting, but they survived.

"The preliminary investigation determined that the victims were standing in a parking lot adjacent to an apartment complex when approached and fired upon," police said. "Detectives were not able to obtain any suspect or vehicle descriptions throughout the investigation."

Wallace was not a gang member, police said.

The reward was offered by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for information leading to the arrest and conviction the person or people responsible for the killing.
