Arriving firefighters found the home engulfed in flames, he said.

"An adult occupant was able to escape with his children without injury prior to the arrival of firefighters," Arvizu said. "A total of ten family members lived at the residence, seven adults and three children."

Firefighters kept the flames from spreading to other mobile homes, according to Arvizu, who said the fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.

The American Red Cross was summoned to assist the family, he said.
