Four Found Shot, One Dead in Long Beach Parking Lot

A man was killed and three other people wounded this morning in a shooting in the parking lot of Long Beach Denny's restaurant.

The shooting occurred at 2:55 a.m. in the rear parking area at 6th Street and Long Beach Boulevard, said Long Beach police spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.

"Arriving officers found four adult victims, one determined deceased," Arrona said.

"Long Beach Fire Department responded and transported three victims to local hospitals," she said.

The three wounded victims had stable vital signs, Arrona said.

Coroner's Lt. Fred Corral said the deceased victim was a 33-year-old Compton man.

The shooting was possibly gang-related, Arrona said.

Streets around the crime scene were closed as homicide detectives investigated the fatal shooting, she said.

A news videographer at the scene said the shooting occurred in the parking lot of a Denny's restaurant and that a woman was one of the wounded victims.
