Man Dies at Long Beach Memorial Hospital Following Shooting

L.A. County sheriff's homicide investigators are looking into the circumstances around the shooting death.

A man who was shot more than two weeks ago in Lakewood died of his wounds Saturday at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The man was shot on Feb. 11 in the 11600 block of 205th Street in Lakewood, sheriff's Deputy Kim Manatt said. He was taken to Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where he received treatment for more than two weeks.

The man, whose name was withheld because of the ongoing investigation, died at 12:43 p.m. Saturday in Long Beach, Manatt said.

Sheriff's homicide investigators were looking into the circumstances surrounding his death, she said.
