Man Fatally Stabbed in Long Beach after Altercation

There were no immediate reports of arrests.

A man was fatally stabbed in Long Beach, authorities said today.

Michael Maurice Hess, 47, of Long Beach died at the scene of his injury, which occurred about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday  in the 6500 block of Indiana Avenue, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

According to the preliminary investigation, Hess was involved in an "altercation," and he was stabbed, Winter said. There were no immediate reports of arrests.
