Newport Beach Deadly Motorcycle Accident Victim ID'd as Long Beach Man

A motorcycle rider who died from injuries suffered in a collision with an SUV in Newport Beach was identified today as as a 25-year-old Long Beach man.

Patrick Lee was declared dead at 6:52 p.m. Thursday after the crash involving up to seven vehicles at Bristol Street and Campus Drive, according to police and the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner's Office.

No one else was seriously hurt. Newport Beach police are handling the investigation.

Lee was the second motorcycle rider to die in Orange County Thursday.

In Santa Ana, a man on a Yamaha R6 headed west on First Street, later identified as 19-year-old Francisco Rincon of Fountain Valley, collided with a Ford F-150 whose driver was making a U-turn on First at Olive Street about 10:30 a.m., according to Santa Ana police and the coroner's office.

The pickup driver was not immediately cited, pending the outcome of a traffic investigation.
