The other driver kept going. No description of that vehicle was made available.

Rick Hobbs-Seeley, who lives in Galaxy Towers, told the Press- Telegram he heard the crash.

"I could hear the engines racing and then heard the loud crash," he said. "I ran downstairs and saw the driver, who was ejected from the car, lying on parkway. He was breathing and moaning. A couple of people were comforting him, saying that paramedics were on the way, but I don't know if he could hear them. He looked unconscious.

"As soon as the paramedics arrived, they took him away," Hobbs-Seeley said.

Both cars were headed west when the wreck occurred, with the Honda crashing into two palm trees near Orizaba Avenue.

Police asked that anyone with more information about the other car or its driver to call LBPD Detective Steve Fox at (562) 570-7355 or the police tipline at (800) 222-TIPS.
