Shooting Death in Long Beach May Be Gang-Related, Police Say

Officers responded around 4:40 p.m. to a shooting call in the area of Hill Street and Earl Avenue.

Police are investigating the possibly gang-related shooting death of a man this afternoon in Long Beach, police said.

Officers responded around 4:40 p.m. to a shooting call in the area of Hill Street and Earl Avenue and found the victim, whose name and age were not immediately available, said Nancy Pratt of the Long Beach Police Department.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, she said.
