U.S. Coast Guard Gets Call of 46-Foot Boat Sinking

The vessel in trouble is near Queen's Gate breakwater entrance to the Port of Long Beach.

UPDATE at 2:54 p.m.: The U.S. Coast Guard today saved a 46-foot sailboat that was reported in distress near the Queen's Gate breakwater entrance to the Port of Long Beach.

Rescuers went to the area early this afternoon and pumped water out of the vessel at a rate that prevented it from sinking, the U.S. Coast Guard reported.

All 10 people aboard the sailboat were unharmed, and the vessel was being towed into safe harbor, the Coast Guard reported.

UPDATE at 1:33 p.m.: The U.S. Coast Guard says the 46-foot boat that was reported sinking near the Queen's Gate breakwater entrance to the Port of Long Beach is being towed in, and all people aboard are safe.
