PHOTOS: Clippers Play B-Ball with Long Beach Kids

Los Angeles’ best professional basketball team – that would be the Clippers right now –  were in Long Beach this week to help open a refurbished basketball court and a new playground at Coolidge Park.

The players offered clinics for neighborhood children Tuesday. The ceremony also included the opening of a Fitness Zone exercise equipment station, which was funding by a Kaiser Permanente HEAL Zone grant that is administered by the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services and the Coalition for a Healthy North Long Beach. 

“We are always grateful when our partners recognize the importance of our parks and help us to improve them,” Mayor Bob Foster said. “I would like to thank the Los Angeles Clippers, The California Endowment and Kaiser Permanente for their generous contributions.”
