Long Beach Native Leads Ontario Fury to Commanding Win

Millikan grad (and coach) Tino Nunez scores three goals in a 9-1 win for the professional indoor soccer team playing in Ontario.

The Ontario Fury got three goals from Millikan High graduate Tino Nunez and two from Majell Aterado as they dispatched winless Sacramento 9-1 Nov. 17 at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

Ontario scored three quick goals – including two in 29 seconds – in the first period to seize control of the game. After Sacramento scored on its first shot of the game, the Fury played a ball control game to dispatch the visiting Surge.

Nunez, who is now a coach at Millikan, completed his hat trick just 10 seconds into the fourth quarter, which was the final goal of the game as Ontario did its best to run the clock out.

The Fury returns to action Nov. 24 against the undefeated Las Vegas Legends. The game, to be played at Citizens Business Bank Arena, will kickoff at 4 p.m.
