Stars And Pros Join Forces For Charity

The Toyota Celebrity Race is intended as a charity race, which brings out the competitive nature of stars and pros alike.

Yesterday's qualifying took Brett Davern to the pole, and today to a hard earned first place. In the Pro-Celebrity category, Al Unser Jr. bested Kyle Petty and Rutledge Wood.

Today on the track they arrived by the truckload. They were nice and friendly with each other. Then it was time to get geared up and strapped in. That is when the smiling and cheerful faces turned serious, save one more for us.

There were a few spin outs, and a lot more aggressive driving than last year's race. In the end there were nothing but smiles and good wishes from all the celebrities and pros for the winners. Brett Davern was holding steady between fourth and fifth place, then decided to get busy.

At the podium, the young star of 'Awkward' on MTV, gave Little Al some praise and called him, "A very humble, humble man." But that was before Al Jr. doused Brett with a magnum of champagne.

Still, the best ten laps I have seen in a few years, and all for a great cause.
