What A Weekend!

The 40th Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will go down in the books as being one the best ever.

With an upset victory by Mike Conway in IndyCar, to the collisions which ended the day for many drivers including last year's winner Takuma Sato. Thousands of fans will not soon forget this weekend.

But it was not all IndyCar racing, of course. There were the Indy Light Cars, Stadium SuperTrucks, Motegi Drift Cars, Tudor, Pirelli and of course the Toyota Pro-Celebrity race. For the die-hard fan of any of these classes of racing, there were also autograph sessions, which sometimes even garnered the ever popular social media selfie.

The Expo was also something to take in to get a break from all those harmful UV rays. From nuts and candy, gadgets and games, to the latest in technology for the home and from automobile manufacturers, there was something for everyone to take part in. The floor of the arena was also a child's paradise, full of things to ride, slide, bounce and crawl around in or on.

Then there were the concerts. 'Kinky' gave a fine performance, as did Paul Rodgers of Bad Company fame. Both nights the bands packed the space in front of the Long Beach Performing Arts Center to thousands of fans.

So until next year race fans, enjoy the memories and join in next year to make new ones!
