For just a $10 ticket, with children 5 and under free, you can watch professionals and volunteers put finishing touches on the floats this weekend in preparation for the parade on Jan. 1.

Take a trip behind the scenes of the Rose Parade this weekend and watch how the colorful floats are constructed.

For just a $10 ticket, with children 5 and under free, you can watch professionals and volunteers putting finishing touches on the floats in preparation for the parade on Jan. 1

You'll see a variety seeds, bark, fruits and vegetables, grasses and, of course, flowers being applied to the floats.

The decorating can be seen in three locations, each of which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday:

  • Rosemont Pavilion, 700 Seco Street, Pasadena
  • Brookside Pavilion. Lot I, south side of Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena
  • Rose Palace, 835 S. Raymond Avenue, Pasadena

Tickets are available through Sharp Seating Company or may be purchased at the venues, though sales may stop when maximum capacity is reached.
