Gearing up for the OC Mini Maker Faire

Long Beach Groups prepare for the OC Mini Maker Faire

I've talked much about the Maker Faire, a time of wonder and creativity.  Alternative... extremely alternative... transportation abounds at the Maker Faire, and the fun, too is - alternative.

You can play with electronics, craft with wood and fabric, see amazing robotic pods walk.  You can learn about various interesting new technology products, and you can learn about the Arduino.  And yes, there will always be 3D printer at the Makerfaire.

You have to see it to understand.

And you can get a sampling of what a Maker Faire is like, next Saturday (August 17th) at the Orange County Mini Maker Faire.

The team which has been preparing and organizing the Mini Maker Fair is small, and has been working hard to make the experience huge fun.

I will be there, staffing a booth for the Long Beach Adult Fans of LEGO.  I'm lucky to have so much community support.  I'll be helped by youth from the DIY Club at the Sea Base, volunteers from the Cultural Alliance of Long Beach and Parents and Students from Great Educational Experiences.

Prizes and Bricks for use at the booth have been provided to the club through the generosity of the LEGO Group and are afterwards used in programs at the supporting organizations.

Come, join the fun!  Tickets are a mere $10 for adults and $6 for youth up to 16 year of age.
